Artist and Painter Natalie Levine Botanicals Art Gallery

Guided by intuition, inspired by a deep love of nature, and already well known for creating warm and inviting images that reach out to truly soothe the soul, Natalie has created, and continues working on, a new series called “Botanicals”. She has developed an entirely new process that treats the viewer to a symphony of calming flowers and environments enriched by the added effects and textures of embedded objects.

Love of French antiques and French art helped motivate Ms.Levine to a movement called Chinoiserie. In the 17th century and by the beginning of the 18th century, Europe was greatly influenced by all things from the Orient. Decorative art applied to interiors, furniture, tapestries, fine wallpapers, and porcelains showing flora and fauna and landscapes of the East were quite sought after. Ms.Levine has taken this art form to her own concept with texture, collage, real flower parts, and found objects.

With this new direction, she provides a place to escape the harsh realities of daily living in a unique world of soft and vibrant colors, enchanting imagery and just enough realism to bring the observer into a joyful respite filled with beauty, nature, and an overall feeling of harmony and peace.

“I feel almost rebellious working this way,” says Natalie. “I am not following the rules with these paintings. As I integrate all the components of the composition and design, the image becomes more and more meaningful. I am finished only when I feel intuitively that I have successfully expressed the complete idea.”

genuine pressed flowers collected by the artist throughout her travels.
